Welcome to Macintyre High School...

Daily Schedule

The operation of Macintyre High School has been formed from a number of different styles collated together to produce a system that works together with students and teachers, forming an excellent platform for maximum learning.

Macintyre operates on a day by day two-week cycle system consisting of five one-hour lessons with a roll call, recess and lunch break per day.

Junior students begin timetabled lessons at 9:00 am, while senior students begin at 8:50 am without roll call. Roll call runs for 15 mins each morning where notices are read and uniform is checked before commencing two one-hour periods including a combination of compulsory and elective courses. Following the conclusion of the second period, students have 20 mins to eat recess either bought from home or the school canteen before beginning another two one-hour periods, again including a combination of compulsory and elective courses. The students then have 40 mins break to eat lunch from home or bought from the school canteen and to sit in sheltered areas or play sport on one of the school ovals. When the lunch break finishes, students have another one-hour period before school concludes at 3:20 pm for all students.

The timetable differs between regular and sport days, and between junior and senior students. Below are diagrams outlining a typical school day for both the junior and senior student.
