We are very excited to have Mrs Debbie Snaith join us from Alstonville High School, where she was head teacher of a very large science and agriculture faculty.

Twelve Macintyre High School students attended the Northern Schools Steer Competition on 8 and 9 November, accompanied by four parents.

Macintyre High School dance group “Gotta Get Through This’ performed at CAPERS (Creative Arts Public Education Regional Spectacular) on Friday 3 November and Saturday 4 November at the Tamworth Regional Entertainment Centre and The SRC conducted a novelty event at recess last Tuesday. Staff and students had a lot of fun and the SRC raised some much needed funds to support their activities. Funds from the event will go to assist with the purchase of new uniforms for our school sporting teams.

Macintyre students' excel in their areas of expertise - Year 10 student Jack Colley has every reason to be proud of his performance as a side drummer in the Inverell Pipe Band and Year 10 student Charli Worgan was a well-deserving winner for last Friday night when she was recognised by Toastmasters as the Youth Communicator of the Year for 2006.

Year 12 Say Farwell - Principal Mr Corcoran recalls - I came in to write a speech on Sunday for the Formal Assembly and I began browsing through the Year 12 Valedictories – to read the aspirations, achievements and reflections of each student left me at a loss for words – how could I leave anything out? If, as Kathryn wrote, teachers are the heart of Macintyre, then students are the soul, the very spirit and our purpose as a school.

Deputy Director General of Education Visits Macintyre - On Wednesday the school was honoured to host Trevor Fletcher, Deputy Director of Education, for an informal function, outlining some of our leadership, welfare and inclusive education programs.

Honeywell science summer school - This highly competitive program is jointly sponsored by Rotary International, The Australian National University and by university engineering faculties

SHADE AND SHELTER FOR MACINTYRE - The schools has received grants totaling approximatly $12 000 to construct covered learning areas for students. A portion of these grants was from TAFE to cover the cost of a teacher to work with a select group of year 10 student to construct the first of 3 shelters.

The 2006 SRC Induction ceremony was held on Thursday. It was attended by parents and friends, Local dignitaries and principles, students and teachers from local schools.

Macintyre gains first and second at Casino Beef Week, Open Girls Netball defeats Tenterfield, Senior Students win prestigous leadership scholarships, Kate Higgins departs for Russian Science Forum, Two Year 10 students attend Global Leaders Conference in New York and Washington and pictures from the recent Athletics Carnival.

Outstanding success for Danielle Withers at Cattle Camp, three of only nineteen DET Awards for region went to Macintyre for Outstanding School and Individual Leadership and Welfare, 17 Senior Students join blood drive, Rugby League, North West Dance and Art Excursion news.
